Back?

Sweater: Urban Outfitters, Shirt: BB Dakota, Skirt: Ebay, Belt: Banana Republic

Hey all (or none, since I don't know if anyone still looks at this)! I have decided that I kind of miss fashion blogging a lot and I might want to start up again. I know this isn't the best outfit post ever, but it's a start. Though I have been absent from the blogosphere, I have still been bargain-hunting my ass off! What is my best recent purchase? These Frye boots.

I got them at marshalls for a mind-boggling $55! They were on clearance because they were out of season (I bought them in December), and they also had a small (easily removable) stain which gave me an additional %15 off! What a steal! Though you can't see in the picture, I was also wearing them with the outfit above.

I really love The Frye Company, and this is my third pair of shoes from them. I bought all 3 pairs at Marshalls for less than half of the price they are usually sold for. One pair of boots I've had for nearly 3 years and they still look and feel brand new! Frye boots are amazing quality...like so amazing that I will save them to give to my daughter in like 20 or 30 years (and yes, I think they will last that long). I love that they are handmade in the U.S. It is so hard to find good quality boots these days, but these are awesome!

I guess that is all for now, toodles!

Paris - Vintage Shopping

So, I did manage to do a little bit of vintage shopping when I was in Paris...after eating a few Nutella Waffles of course.

I researched a lot online before the trip, and I found that the Cherry Blossom Girl suggested some great stores that were only a block away from each other.

They had great stuff but it was all extremely overwhelming. The stores were tres petit, as the french say, and they were also very crowded.

The Euro to the Dollar isnt great, but I still got some great deals in these stores. They had bags for 5 euro (about $7) and scarves for 1 Euro ($1.40 ish). Other things were priced differently but all good deals. Unfortunately, I was in a bit of a rush so I wasn't able to dig around to my best ability, but I did pick up a few things. The sweater and bag in the photos above were two of my finds. The sweater is from the 80s, it has shoulder pads and a great sailor look, with ships on the buttons. The bag has a Chanel feel, and I love it. I bought it as a gift for my best friend though... I might beg her to borrow it.. =D

My Trip To Paris: Part 1 - Aux Champs Elysées

I know. Its been over a month. I've forgotten about my blogiversary, and I haven't replied to any comments....

Will some pictures from my trip make up for it :/?

I took TONS of pictures, so I am going to have to break them up into a few posts.

All of these pictures were taken on or around the Champs Elysées (sort of like times sqaure..) in Paris, France.

I couldn't believe the amount of expensive designer stores. They had beautiful window displays.

Phillipe Cardin (beautiful store! Very futuristic and modern)

The Champs Elysées had a lot of big stores, and even some that we have in Times Square in New York, like Virgin Records and Sephora. When I walked into the Sephora, there was a long red carpet leading down into a HUGE room. I guess I was there at exactly 12PM or something because all of the employees were lined up along the red carpet singing and dancing to Womanizer as I entered...it was halarious.

There was this really cool store called Promod, which exists in a lot of counties but not in the US. It has a great online store if you want to check it out here. It was similar to H&M with the style and the prices. So cute!

There weren't really any sales in that store, except for this 'super-cool' (as the french say) shirt which I got for 10 Euros (roughly $14)

I did come across one vintage store on the Champs Elysées, and as AMAZING as it was, it was way too expensive for me...but I took lots of pictures!

Though people always talk about Parisians and their impeccable style, I quickly realized that its true, but they all seem to have the SAME style. I can't tell you how many leather boots paired with skinny jeans (sometimes a skirt/shorts and tights) with an interesting wool peacoat and big triangular scarf I saw. Im not even kidding. Every shoe store was ALL leather boots and all the clothing stores were full of wool jackets. The first few stylish Parisians who walk by you amaze you, but after the fifty-sixth, its all the same. I mean, just look at this accidental picture i took of the ground...already 3 pairs of black leather boots!

Drumroll, please...

So, I know that you all have been on the EDGE of your seats waiting for my surprise....
not really.
But anyways, drumroll please...
I AM GOING TO FRANCE! Hooray!
What you all don't know is that I am actually half French. Most of my Dad's side of the family lives in Paris, and I get to go there around every 2 years or so. I am leaving this Sunday and staying for 2 weeks. I will most probably have internet access and I will try my hardest to post while I'm there, if I'm not too busy. I am going to be doing a lot of shopping (oh yes, I've been saving up), and some sight-seeing as well. And, I will also be in Val D'isere for 5 days, which is a fancy shmancy ski resort. I'm so excited!

Here are some pictures from two years ago...I would show you ones that I am in, but I am too embarrassed. Not only did I have very poofy hair and braces, but I also had no fashion sense whatsoever. haha.

"The Roland Revolution"

So, some of you might remember my adventure in May, when I got to meet Roland Mouret, an upcoming designer, at an exclusive "welcome to bergdorf goodman" cocktail party. Here's a picture to remind you:

Yes, well anyway, he has been quickly been getting more and more popular, and my cousin Daniel Marks scored him an 8 page spread AND COVER in Evening Standard Magazine, from England. Oh yes. I am ecstatic! As more and more celebrities become familiar with his designs (Beyonce, Victoria Beckham, Heidi Klum), he is making his way to the top. Congrats, Roland!

Brrr

I know, I know. It's been over a week. It's been very cold and the sun is setting a bit too early for pictures. The first marking period at school is just ending, which means lots and lots of last minute tests and homework.

Here's an outfit I wish I could afford:
