Drumroll, please...

So, I know that you all have been on the EDGE of your seats waiting for my surprise....
not really.
But anyways, drumroll please...
I AM GOING TO FRANCE! Hooray!
What you all don't know is that I am actually half French. Most of my Dad's side of the family lives in Paris, and I get to go there around every 2 years or so. I am leaving this Sunday and staying for 2 weeks. I will most probably have internet access and I will try my hardest to post while I'm there, if I'm not too busy. I am going to be doing a lot of shopping (oh yes, I've been saving up), and some sight-seeing as well. And, I will also be in Val D'isere for 5 days, which is a fancy shmancy ski resort. I'm so excited!

Here are some pictures from two years ago...I would show you ones that I am in, but I am too embarrassed. Not only did I have very poofy hair and braces, but I also had no fashion sense whatsoever. haha.

"The Roland Revolution"

So, some of you might remember my adventure in May, when I got to meet Roland Mouret, an upcoming designer, at an exclusive "welcome to bergdorf goodman" cocktail party. Here's a picture to remind you:

Yes, well anyway, he has been quickly been getting more and more popular, and my cousin Daniel Marks scored him an 8 page spread AND COVER in Evening Standard Magazine, from England. Oh yes. I am ecstatic! As more and more celebrities become familiar with his designs (Beyonce, Victoria Beckham, Heidi Klum), he is making his way to the top. Congrats, Roland!

Brrr

I know, I know. It's been over a week. It's been very cold and the sun is setting a bit too early for pictures. The first marking period at school is just ending, which means lots and lots of last minute tests and homework.

Here's an outfit I wish I could afford:

Hey grandma!

Images hosted by Imageshack.us

Today I decided to wear all vintage. Not one piece of this outfit is from this millenium.
The shirt is vintage Sonia Rykiel, the skirt and jacket are from a clothing swap last weekend, the stockings and belt I got from my mothers closet, and the shoes I bought earlier this year at a local vintage store.
Mission accomplished!
Unfortunately, my bra and undies aren't vintage...but I think that is rather unavoidable ;)

You all should look out for a vlog coming soon. You will be able to get to know me a lot better then.

"Figure skater much?"

I picked up this lovely little dress in the sale section of Express a few weeks ago. It was the last of its kind. How lucky am I? It was exactly what I was looking for! Next thing on my list is a pair of hot pink opaque tights to go with it.

Accessories:
(I was wearing the bow in my hair earlier but forgot to put it back on for the outfit photos, so iMac photos will have to do)

I made this bow last year in my sewing class. Its just a tied ribbon with a random button glued to an old hair clip. Its kind of big and floppy, but that's what I love so much about it. I didn't even mind the weird looks I got all day, and someone telling me that Halloween wasn't for another 2 weeks. Ha! The ring is from a trip to Mexico a few years ago.

On a more sad note, Topshop NYC isn't going to open for another few months. I'm so sad! I've been saving up for it =[

Eelie tagged me for "favourites tag" (oh yes, I'm spelling it like the English). So here I go:

Favourite:
Clothes Shop: It's a hard choice...either H&M or Urban Outfitters
Sweet: Smarties (not the chocolate ones), Sweet Tarts, Nerds
City: Hmm. Paris, New York, London, and Tel Aviv
Drink: Its usually Snapple Lemon Iced Tea...but right now its YooHoo (or Choco Be Sakeet if you are Israeli)
Music: The Hush Sound and Jack's Mannequin
TV Series: Heroes, Ugly Betty, Monk, My Name is Earl
Film: Alice in Wonderland, The Day After Tomorrow, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Terminal, War of the Worlds, Atonement, MATILDA
Workout: Biking and hiking....ha
Pastries: Croissant, Baklava, Cookies, APPLE PIEEEE
Coffee: yughh. I'm a tea person. A strong English Breakfast with some milk and a lot of sugar will do.

I tag Anna, and Belle.

Borrowing and predictions?

I borrowed this entire outfit (besides the tights and shoes) from my best friend Rachel. Hehe. When I slept over at her house the other day, I couldn't resist raiding her closet. It is filled with American Apparel and Urban Outfitters items. Plus, she makes her own jewelry that is very cute! I love the skirt so much that I think I might head over to American Apparel soon and pick one up for myself!

Recently, I've noticed how many people are wearing colored contacts. They are so cool! You can choose from all types of crazy colors. Sometimes I wish that I didn't have such good vision, so that I could get some. I have even looked online though the lensshopper contact lens guide to see how much they cost...I wanna try them! I would definitely get purple...how cool would that be? Woah, I just had a crazy thought...what if in the future, people matched their eye color to their outfits, and everyone wore colored contacts? That would be so cool.

French Zeebras

Shirt: Vintage, Isobella
Vest: Old Navy
Skirt: H&M
Tights: My mother
Flats: Marshalls

The warm weather is quickly fading away, and my inspiration along with it. As much as I would like too, I can't wake up in the morning on a freezing day and wear a skirt or dress, even if I wear tights. Its just so cold! But I am making a pact to myself that I will try anyways, for the sake of fashion.

On another note, people have been asking me what I liked from all of the fashion weeks around the world. I am going to do a-designer-per-post thing. Here is what I liked from Chloé:

Another Man's Treasure's Traveling Show

The fashion show was a success!!
I was a mime, and Belle was a clown.

The whole crew before the show

End of the show:

The whole thing was really fun! The clothes are basically all vintage, from my local vintage store, Another Man's Treasure. Belle and I were the youngest models, but it was still really fun! All of the people were so cool and nice. The makeup was a bitch to take off though =P
