Spring Break

Alright, so maybe I lied? I feel like every time that I promise to post more, I post even less. From now on I promise to make no more promises. I guess that I'll just go over every day of spring break with you.

Tuesday I mostly hung around the house and I went to Chinatown later in the night but I didn't buy anything.

On Wednesday Belle and I roamed around the city until our legs nearly fell off. Literally. First we went through SoHo to go to a sample sale, where we bought cheap mondays for $10 each. Then we roamed through St. Marks up to the Urban Outfitters on 14th street, where I got this prettyful pink flowy shirt with an open back for $10.

This is Belle being all cool on her sidekick? haha

On Thursday my best friend Naomi who lives in Long Island came to visit...We went to the central park zoo =D (I was wearing the pink shirt from wednesday)

Maryland!

Because I haven't made a real post in a while, this one is gonna be nice and juicy. First of all, I am on Spring Break now, so I will be able to make a post every day this week. Because it's spring break, I will be going shopping. A lot. Belle and I are going to St. Marks on Wednesday, so that will be a post with both of us...fun.

Thursdays outfit:

Fridays outfit:

Over the weekend I got my first paycheck (YAY)! So I will have more money than I thought I would for this week. I get my next paycheck on April 30th, which will have at least $150 (YAY MORE SHOPPING). I might borrow money form my parents for this week and pay them back when I get my paycheck though, so I can do more shopping this weekend.

I went down to Baltimore, Maryland for the weekend for my grandpa's 90th birthday. While I was there I stopped in a very big Good Will and picked up a few things. The store was huge, and I only had 20 minutes, so I couldn't dig around too much, but I got a few finds, and I only spent $20!

Yay photoshop skillz. I know, I know, the rainbow skirt is a little bit much. The cousin I was shopping with used to be obsessed with rainbows, so I bought it sort of for and inside joke. I am contemplating wearing it to school though...its a little out there. I'm not sure if I can pull it off. White tee and silver heels? hmm.

The brown skirt is big on me, but as it was only $2, I had to get it. If it doesn't fit me, it will fit someone else. Maybe I'll sell it on ebay? I'm guessing its from the 70s.
While I was there I tried on this crazy romper. I would have bought it......but it was like $10 and it was big anyway. Please excuse my weird facial expression in the picture...the lighting hated me.

GOOD WEATHER? GOOD WEATHER!

Yay! Since my last post, there have been not one, but 2 days with very very very warm (even hot) weather. I got to wear shorts!! Unfortuately, my camera kind of spazzed and two of the pictures came out blurry but I thought they were still cool looking so i posted them anyways.

Of course, I've worn numerous outfits besides this one since my last post, but I forgot to take pictures and I don't feel like putting them on again just to do so. If you haven't noticed already, I'm a lay motherfucker. I wore both of the $10 Urban Outfitter dresses that I got last weekend.

This weekend, I went shopping, but not for me; for someone else. One of my best friends had a birthday on Friday and I wanted to get her a SUPER AWESOME present, so my friend and I combined our money and got her tons of stuff form forever21 and Urban outfitters (on sale, of course). She loved it all. I realized that I am really good at picking out clothes for other people...maybe I could be a personal shopper? Or a stylist? haha...in my dreams I guess =P

Roland Mouret

Thank god for distant family connections! My cousin Daniel Marks who works in fashion public relations (he has his own company, here) came to NYC to represent one of his designers, Roland Mouret. Mouret's line has just been picked up by Bergdorf Goodman, and there was a little cocktail party in honor of it, and I GOT TO GO! Thanks to my amazing cousin! Yay! It was totally amazing, and I even got to try on his signature dress, which has been worn by numerous celebrities, including Victoria Beckham! Okay, enough with my jabber. Here are the pictures of me in the dress!

I wish you could see the back of the dress, it had beautiful details on the butt and an amazing EXPOSED ZIPPER!! Almost all of the clothes in his line with zippers had these beautiful-super-amazing exposed zippers =]

This is me and Mouret...oh did I mention I got to meet him?? He was soooo nice and he said I looked like a model in his dress! I felt so honored and happy =]

Here are two of the models in some of his dresses. You might not be able to tell, but the heels they were wearing were literally 6 inches tall.

Roland Mouret's line is all about pleats, creases, and accentuating the shape of the body. All of his clothes are very geometric and perfect to the t. They are very futuristic, and beautiful. A lot of parts of them resemble tuxedos and menswear ideas. After seeing these dresses in person, Mouret has quickly and easily become one of my favorite designers; I swear he is the next big thing!

I <3 St Marks!

This is what I wore today....I know, not so interesting. I just wanted to show the shirt, but I ended up having a bit too much fun with my flower pots, and I look like a dinosaur.

I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful comments I've received on my last two posts! I never thought I would get that many =D

Yesterday I had quite a grande (yes, the e is for emphasis on how awesome it was) time moseying around St. Marks in the city. Here are some pictures of the day =D

First we went to BAMN!, the awesomest place ever. Its an automat, like they used to have in the 60s. The food is in vending machines and you have to pay in quarters and open the drawer to take out your food. Its very greasy/oily fried stuff, but its really good. I ate a grilled cheese sandwich. I actually didn't take this picture; I took it from google images, because i couldnt get a good enough shot and this one is so EPIC.

I found this AMAZING SUPER AWESOME vintage/thrift store that was fuckin HUGE with fair prices... Unfortunately, the people who I was shopping with weren't really diggin the 'used clothes' and didn't want to spend too much time in there...I almost got a pair of boots for $15, but they had this weird stain on them. This is one of those stores that you need to be in there for HOURS to find good stuff...great for a rainy day. I am DEFINATELY planning on going back there in a couple of weeks or so, and I will actually buy stuff (Belle, wanna go during spring break?).

On the way home...um...well....I WENT TO URBAN OUTFITTERS.
I'm soooo sorry but I honestly can't resist. And getting two awesome dresses for $10 each when they used to be over $50, is quite an accomplishment...especially when they are PERFECT for this spring.

This is an ombre shirt-dress thing...I am planning to pair it with black stockings and my silver heels maybe??? I'll have to try it.

This is a BEAUTIFUL floral dress that I am totally obsessed with.... =D=D=D=D=D
I cant wait to wear it
=D=D

Okay, this is a really long post so I am going to end it now. But I have a REALLY SUPER AWESOME SURPRISE coming on Tuesday and Wednesday, so get excited =D

Belle, are you asitalian or italiasian?

Okay, so maybe I didn't wear this outfit all day, and maybe I just changed into it for this post, and maybe my mom said I looked like a whore when I showed her the outfit, and maybe i look emo/depressed/angry/constipated in the photos, but I don't really care. (and yes, there is a random ass toilet in my backyard...and it has Jesus on it...the people who lived in my house before I moved there were crazy-catholics. there is Jesus and Mary stuff everywhere, and my family is Jewish; so we have been trying to get rid of all of it =P)

I've seen a lot of bloggers and people on the streets of NYC rocking the shorts-with-stockings look, so I thought I would try it for myself. I couldn't wear it to school due to my school's wacky dress code, and it was rather cold today. Thats the only problem with the look; in the winter your legs will get cold and in the summer they will get hot but in the spring you don't wear black stockings etc.

I was just fooling around, so I'm not sure if I really pulled off the look or not. What do you think??

tshirt from H&M, sweater from Urban Outfitters, shorts from marshalls, stockings from my mom, shoes from Dollhouse, bag is secondhand.

JK ROWLING DIED???

It was rainy and humid today, but I dressed spring-y anyways. Today's outfit was inspired by this post by Sally Jane Vintage. I saw floral dress with the vest, and the lightbulb went off in my head to wear my vest with this shirt.

I almost forgot I owned these boots, and then when I couldn't find my black flats this morning, I grabbed them since it matched the shirt. The one thing that I am going to miss about winter is the shoes...I love close-toed shoes and boots a lot better than most sandals (except galdiators, of course).

The shirt is from H&M, vest from Target, Necklace from Wet Seal, Jeans from Delias, bag was Moms, and boots from Dollhouse.

After school today, I went to Marshalls to look for some new shoes. Unfortunately, they didnt have any gladiator sandals, but there were these AMAZING high heeled sandals from Nine West. The heels were 3" and they looked great on me, and though my mom said I could get them if I wanted, I decided not to because I knew I would never be able to wear them because I cant walk in high heels, and I didnt want to spend money on shoes I cant wear (again, the incident with the boots), so I am going to go shoe shopping again soon. I ended up picking up these silver dollhouse 1" heels for $20.
