I'm gonna send a little rain...

Though it has rained for the past couple of days, the title of this blog has nothing to do with the contents. I have always been quite bad at thinking up titles for things; news articles, stories, poems, what have you.

A few days ago I was looking at some fashion shows at Style.com, and I absolutely LOVED these styles:

The first is a simple outfit from DKNY, but I love the white high-waisted shorts and the belt.
The next two photos are from Luella. I love this floral pattern and I would wear that trench and that dress in a heartbeat (not together of course).

Today, I left school during lunch and skipped the last period. It was gym, so it wasn't a big deal...plus it was a nice celebration for finally finishing the midterm exams (it seemed as if they lasted forever)! My friend Belle was too chicken to come (tsk tsk tsk), so I went with my friend Samantha. We went to the mall of course, and in the mall we looked in Express and Forever 21. Surprisingly, we found more things we liked at Express than at Forever21. If you are looking for a chic high-waisted skirt, I would definately recommend Express...they had some really great ones that were reasonably priced.

I didn't really have much money, so it wasn't a very productive shopping trip. I did get a pair of red tights for $3 though, and I cant wait to wear them with my black pencil skirt =D

Some days all I do is watch the sky...

Sorry that I haven't updated in a few days. Life has been quite hectic. From babysitting to midterm exams, I haven't had any spare time. Until this weekend. Also, I lent my camera for a friend for a few days, so I couldn't take pictures of my outfits, not that they were interesting anyway. It was laundry day yesterday, so all of my favorite clothes were dirty until today.

This morning I had to get dressed in a rush because I woke up at 11:45AM and I had to leave the house at 12. So I threw on some jeans, a t-shirt, a little jacket and a scarf, which doesn't even really match. The most special part of my outfit is the clutch.

I have been taking a sewing class for a month or so, and I have been learning how to use a sewing machine. So far I have made a wallet, two belts, a headband, and a clutch, which is seen in the picture. The woman who teaches the class makes lots of accessories using unique fabrics...she is really cool too =D

Here are some more pics of things that I've made:

New York girl on a prairie??

The outfit I wore today consisted of a plaid peasant-like dress, a t-shirt, stockings, and shoes. As I left my house in the morning, I thought that I looked rather cute and was quite proud of my outfit, but when I got to school it was somewhat the opposite; for guys anyway.

Girls would be like, 'Hey Zoë, you look so cute today! I love the dress," which of course made me very happy...but with guys..it was different.

As I sat at my desk in my first class of the day, one of my guys friends said, "Hey Zoë, do you live in a little house on a prairie??" Haha. Like the book. "You wish," I replied. At first I thought, whatever, he always makes fun of me, its just him. But I got similar remarks throughout the day. One boy said, "Hey Zoë, what time are you gonna milk the cows?"

No matter what they said, I still loved my outfit. Who cares? Boys don't understand fashion anyway. But it made me think; What does one usually do when their fashion sense is made fun of? Do you ignore it and wear what you wear?
Do you rethink your outfit and change things up next time? Maybe you go and cry in a corner...what ever floats your boat I guess. What do you, the few readers of my blog, do when someone criticizes your outfit??

The dress I wore today was from the Urban Outfitters line, Urban Renewal. I know, I know, hardcore vintage fashionistas look down upon Urban Outfitters...They carry wannabe vintage clothes for 8x the price! I'd like a moment to defend myself about this...First of all, I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from Urban if it wasn't on sale...I mean, $50 for a sweater? Are you kidding? The quality is usually shit anyways. But Urban Renewal is different.

The Urban Renewal line takes old XXXL mens shirts that no one buys, and transforms them into cute and one-of-a-kind shirts, jackets, vests, dresses, etc. They are one-of-a-kind because of the fabrics; the sewing patterns and styles are the only thing thats the same about two of a given garment.

In basic speech, they are recycling!

Well, thats all for now, folks. Comments make me a happy little prairie girl. As Tigger always said, TTFN, ta ta for now!!

Tuesdays feel like mondays.

I love 3-day-weekends, and almost everything about them, except for one thing. Say your 3-day-weekend gets you a Monday off...then your Tuesday will feel like a Monday (worst day of the week because you have to wake up early after a weekend of sleeping in), but worse because your sleeping schedule is even more messed up.

I got 3 hours of sleep last night.
You are probably asking yourself, 'What the hell was she doing that made her stay up that late?'

Well, the answer is that I didn't stay up late. I turned my lights off at around midnight. I tossed and turned, still awake, until around 3AM. I slept for 2 hours until I woke up at 5AM. I couldn't fall back asleep until 6AM, and my alarm went of at 7AM. Gosh. I don't even understand how I am still awake right now.

So anyways, today was a drag. I was half asleep through the first 2 hours of school, and I slacked off for the rest of the day. And then after school, in bowling, I got a 58 on one of my games. A 58. It was ridiculous.

My outfit today was put together while I was half asleep in the morning, plus it was laundry day so most of my clothes were dirty. Sorry about the lighting; I have suckish lighting everywhere in my house :'(

The boots.

I have always wanted a nice pair of cowboy boots. Finally, in November, I found these on Ebay. They were perfect. Not only were they the prettiest cowboy boots I had ever seen, but they were a size 8 and 1/2; My size. Of course I had to have them.

Unfortunately, there were a few other bidders trying to get the same boots. They started at $20. I wanted them so badly that I was willing to pay up to $50 for them. I was the last bidder and I won the boots for $47.50.
Okay, so maybe thats a little bit expensive, but these are the most amazing boots I have ever seen. And they are vintage.

I checked the mail every day for a week until they finally came. I opened the box excitedly, and pulled them out.

They were even more amazing in person.

I took off the shoes I was wearing, and shoved the boots onto my feet. My stomach dropped. THEY WERE TOO SMALL. I almost cried. At first, I thought that maybe if i wore thinner socks they would fit better. Nope. Still too small. IT SAID IT WAS AN 8.5!! More like a 7.5-8! I was so upset. The seller said I couldn't return them. So, I still have them. I can't bring myself to reselling them, because I am pretty sure that I wont be able to get as much as I paid for...plus I love looking at them. They are so pretty!

I keep telling myself that if I bring them to a shoemaker person, they could stretch them to make them fit me...but my mom says its not gonna happen, but I still have hope. I still haven't gotten around to bringing them, because I don't want to face the disappointment of them still not fitting.

So basically, I am writing this blog, wondering if anyone here would be willing to buy them from me for $40-50...Or, if anyone can help me find another pair of cool cowboy boots (probably not as cool as these) for around $20-40 that are a size 8.5 or 9....so yeah. There is my sad story :'(.

CLOTHES SWAP!!

So, this morning, I am sitting around my house, bored as hell when my mom comes up to me and says, "Hey, do you want to go to a clothes swap?" I was confused, "What?" I asked. "Its basically where a bunch of women bring in their old clothes that they don't want anymore, and you bringin your old clothes and then you can freely take any of the clothes other people brought!"

I was ecstatic. OF COURSE I WANTED TO GO!! So, I went and I got SOOOO many great finds! And the best part was that it was all free! I didn't have to pay a thing, and some of the things I found were designer! YAY!

I found two dresses, three skirts, two sweaters, three jackets, one scarf, a bag and a pair of grey tights. I have to say that my BEST find of the day was a black, cashmere, pencil skirt. It is AMAZING and its exactly what I have been looking for! I am so happy! I cant wait to wear these things to school and stuff...but I am gonna wash them first because...well..who knows if the previous owner washed them before bringing them to the swap...

Anyways, I am so happy about it...for once my mom had something good to bring me too! yay! And there might be another one before the summer, so I am really happy =D

I have said that I am happy a bunch of times already...but what else can I say...=D=D=D=D

Oh, and Belle, if you are reading this, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about it! I would call you but you don't have a phone and you weren't on AIM...sowwy!!

So here are pictures and things... click on them to see them larger!!

I would have done a photoshoot of me wearing all of the things but it would take too long and I am veryyyy lazy.

bring some color to this colorless winter...

Well, today was one of those days where school goes by really fast, but what you do after school goes by very slow...Umm I think I'll just admit it now. I'm on the bowling team at my school. Yepp. We are HARDCORE!! I have bowling every Monday and Thursday, so on those days I never wear dresses or skirts. Bowling in a dress or a skirt is one of the most uncomfortable things ever...at least for me :P

As I awoke this morning, I decided to wear something a bit colorful. The outfit sort of came to me...pink+purple+black&white=good color combo. I have worn these purple jeans many times before, but always with yellow and red...it only occurred to me today that I could pull them off with pink too! And I added my 'Crayons' necklace to it, which I haven't worn in forever, so that made me very happy.

I am soo happy that this winter, there are a lot more colors in style than there were last year. Last year it was all browns, greys, greens, and sometimes navy. Now I see a lot of people wearing the primary colors, and purple! I love color, so this is great.

I am also very happy that I am getting better at combining different pieces to make different outfits...last year, I was a big fashion nono. I had set outfits...a specific shirt with specific pants..and I would just alternate..and I had the same pants in 3 colors and they weren't even that nice :/

Shirt: Wet Seal, $5
Sweater: Delias, $20
Jeans: H&M, $20
Necklace: Girlprops

I was wearing shoes before, but it started raining, so when I got home I took them off :/.

Today is the 15th of January of 2008. But you already knew that.

Ummm so today I was actually very proud of my outfit because I wore a dress that I got when I was like 11 or 12 in Paris...and I haven't worn it since then. I didn't think that it fit me anymore! And it wasn't anything that would be in style for 2007. It was a 2008 outfit =D. I also wore my PLAID TIGHTS, which is one of my MOST FAVORITE articles of clothing...I got them in Paris last year..and even though they were like 16 Euros, they were so worth it because they are amazing.

Sooo my dad was in the grocery store and I was waiting in the car and I was madd bored so I took like 10 pictures...I was trying to be all cool and artsy and shit...yeah. Here you go:

Shirt: Aeropostale, 2 years ago, around $15 I think...
Dress: From childhood...don't know price (probs expensive because my grandma bought it)

I'm Zoë....and yeah, the two dots are on my birth certificate. I'm 16, and I LOVE fashion...and shopping....and photography...and filmmaking..and graphic design...and life.

Some people ask if I'm a model...when I say no, they say I look like a model, and that I should be one. I reply with 'Ehhh, I guess so, but the industry is a bit too hectic for me' or 'I kind of want to but my parents wont let me.'

Soo I guess this is my blog...eh? Wow that was Canadian...
Anywaysss my friend Arabelle and I are fashion slaves, so we are going to have fashion blogs!!
